Again this year we are partnering with Boise Public Library to offer a day full of free EggBot (really cool robot) Ornament workshops in the Band Room upstairs! They will be hosted from 11am-3pm on Saturday (11/19), and 11am-5pm on Sunday (11/20). Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Also in the Band Room – 9 year old Breandan will be collecting (new) coats and cash donations to help homeless & foster kids have a warm winter. Visit him on Saturday and Sunday to donate and learn more about his goals!
The whole premise of Wintry Market is to give back to our local community by providing makers and artists with an affordable booth at a unique holiday market to sell their wares with no commission taken. Another piece, of course, is offering the Treasure Valley a great, fun shopping environment for two days in November free of admission.
This year, though, we wanted to give back even more to our community! We’ve invited the Hawthorne Harmonics, an elementary school choir of 3rd-6th graders from up on the Boise Bench, to come and sing some holiday carols for our crowd on Saturday morning, the 22nd around 10:15am. Supporting our public schools, especially their arts education, is pretty important to us.
We’re excited to promote even more local music, by offering paying gigs to a few more musical artists in town throughout the Market weekend. We’ve partnered with Go Listen Boise to do so, and are looking forward to talking more about music and artists and what Wintry Market does for the community next Thursday November 20th at 1pm on Mother’s Ruin on Radio Boise.
Another important addition this year are the Idaho Food Bank barrels you’ll find in the El Korah Shrine ballroom this year near the entrance. If you bring 2-3 cans or other nonperishable food items, you’ll get a 10% off coupon to use in any participating vendor booth purchase!
