Inspiration : Making the Most of your Booth Space

For those of you who haven’t done a market before (and for those who have) we wanted to provide you some ideas for setting up your display. The booth spaces at El Korah Shrine are 6’x6′ again. Please use your space to best display your product, below are a few layout suggestions for an outward facing and inward facing design.

Here are some useful tips for displaying your goods:

  • Layout and access to your booth makes a difference for your patrons – do a mock-up at home before the event if you can.
  • Decide where you want to sit / stand in your space.
  • Plan a location for additional merchandise and gift wrap.
  • Create signage so patrons know what your booth name is.
  • Be creative with your booth materials, create more than one level of display.

Below are some display ideas from a few of our 2015 Wintry vendors – check out our Pinterest board  for more!

(p.s. You have just a few more days to apply – application deadline is this Saturday September 17th!)

Holiday Craftin’

We know, it’s still September, but we’ve got Wintry on the brain! Being in the throes of planning for the big weekend in November has got us brainstorming holiday crafts and we’ve found a few too cute not to share.

DIY Gold Leaf Pine Cone Garland

This simple DIY gold leaf pine leave garland is awfully sweet and could be something to save and decorate your mantle with year after year. (Or if you’re short on time and patience, you could get the same effect with gold spray paint and tying the twine directly around the top or middle of each pinecone, forgoing the eye screws.)

cute!

These whimsical ornaments have a mid-century mod feel and are easy to make with scraps of cardstock you might have lying around. Smaller ones hung around a tree or larger ones suspended from the ceiling with fishing line would both by cheap and easy holiday décor.

gingerbread house that sits on the edge of a mug

And, our most favorite, when crafting and cooking collide! These wee gingerbread house cookies that perch on your coffee mug are too die for. A  culinary construction masterpiece for sure.

Be sure to follow our Wintry Market Pinterest boards for more wintry crafts, baking, treat making, and vintage decoration ideas!

Gettin’ Crafty!

With cooler weather, fall brings us closer to home, baking, building fires, harvesting our bounty, and crafting! The holidays, from Halloween to New Year’s Eve, are so much fun to create for. Here are a few links to some of our favorite ideas this year:

How cute and easy are these? Hit your local dollar store for the trees, and recycle old jars from around the house!

Seriously, another recycling project that is so easy and darling. A great way to reuse burned out bulbs and adding glitter to anything is instant holiday sparkle! Pile them in a clear dish or string together to make a cute garland.

Got kiddos in your life? This little handmade holiday gift would be a treasure indeed.

Handmade holidays cards are so rare anymore, so send some this year to the ones you love! These ones are so easy and made with scrap papers, but washi tape would also work. The kids could also help!

12 Days // Our Favorite Holiday Tunes

Happy November! With the Wintry Market only a few days away, we thought what better way to get you into the Holiday shoppin’ mood than with some of our favorite Christmas picks. And no, it’s absolutely not to early to start listening to Christmas music, especially if it’s great Christmas music from even better bands and gets you in that gift-givin’ mood. Plus, we even compiled a playlist just for you! Now don’t you  feel special?! You should!

Be sure to support our favorite local, independent music store The Record Exchange, and look for fun Christmas Albums featuring local artists from Moxie Java

12 Days // Creative Gift Wrapping

For the 12 days leading up to the Wintry Market, we will be featuring some of our favorite things about the Holiday season, such as music and things you can make yourself, such as the project today! Enjoy and check back tomorrow for even more Wintry Market goodness!

When giving a special gift to a special somebody, what’s inside the box isn’t the only important thing. A creative and fun gift wrap job can make a present more fun to give and receive. We love the following ideas to make your gifts this year stand out from the crowd. Plus, these ideas all reuse scrap material that might otherwise be thrown away! Cute, and eco-friendly? Ok by us!

The ideas above are only a few of examples of how you can do your part to save resources this Holiday season by re-using materials. This Holiday season we urge you to look past conventional ways of wrapping gifts and seek new, creative, and resourceful ways to wrap your presents this year. Not only will they be the best looking presents under that tree of yours, but we’re sure your wallet will thank you as well! A win-win situation in our book.
